Yamaha Aerox 155 launched as India’s most powerful scooter
The Yamaha Aerox 155 maxi scooter has been launched in India. It is effectively the country’s most powerful scooter, dethroning the Aprilia SXR 160.

For the kind of performance on offer, this scooter is quite reasonably priced at Rs 1.29 lakh. The price of the limited-edition Aerox 155 MotoGP version is Rs 1.30 lakh. Its main rival, the Aprilia SXR 160 is priced at Rs 1.27 lakh. All prices are ex-showroom.
Yamaha Aerox 155 engine & gearbox
One of the most notable features of the new Aerox 155 is the 155cc VVA single-cylinder engine, which is based on the one used by the R15. This maxi scooter produces 15hp and 13.9Nm.

While these numbers are lower than the R15’s, they are far greater than any other scooter on the Indian market. The Aerox has a kerb weight of 126kg, which is fairly competitive.
Yamaha Aerox 155 features
This maxi scooter has a prominent spine section which makes it less practical for load carrying. But, it does offer a big 25-litre under seat storage capacity.
Digital instrumentation, start-stop technology, LED illumination, a charging outlet, and Bluetooth connectivity are among the other features. It also has huge 14-inch wheels on both ends, as well as a wide 140-section rear tyre.
